100 word writing challenge- My old teacher

Sally was my Mamie’s teacher. She was like a mother, kind, caring and funnyLaughing was something Sally would do a lot. We all used to have so much fun because she made everything fun. It was Sally’s idea to get the Mamie’s house a bunny called Poppy. We each got a turn to either take Poppy home during the week or on the weekend. She laughed happily, and I always smiled when she did thatTired I guess you could say I was after having so much fun every minute of the day. Sally was pretty much the best teacher I had ever had. Although Sally sadly left the school after many years of teaching here, I will always remember her as an amazing person.

The comment I posted on Eleni’s biography:

Hi Eleni, I did learn a bit more about J.K. Rowling! Although I think your biography would be even better if you had a few more facts. Have a great day! xx Soph R

The comment I posted on Sophia’s biography:

Hi Sophia, I found your biography very informative and you put it in a way I wanted to keep reading! I think you covered pretty much everything you would need to know about Kate. But maybe you could have added something like what she likes to do in her spare time if you could find anything covering that topic. Overall it was amazing! Have a great day! xx Soph R

I really enjoyed this weeks activity. It really made me think more deeply about a topic I had been thinking about and it broadened my thinking about what other people have been thinking about. Stay tuned!

Aren’t we all the same?

Lately, I have been thinking about the different ways people react or just show emotions on a day to day basis. Some people react with not anger, but constructive ideas to a negative situation. Some people just stick to what they want to get on with and don’t even get caught up in negative situations. As I was thinking about this I was thinking about why people might react in these different ways. But then a new idea whirled its way through all of my thought and the idea was: don’t we all just have the same emotions. So why is it that everyone uses them so differently? I’m still thinking about this topic because I think it is an interesting topic to be elaborating on.

What are your thoughts? Feel free to leave them in the comments along with the link to your blog and I will go and check your blog out! Hope to hear from you! xx

200 word writing challenge- deep sea house

I wake up, and I have a strange gut feeling rush through my head to my toes. Today, something is going to happen. I don’t know what, but the superpower that tells me if something is going to happen just became clear. I collect my clothes from my wardrobe, and I go into the kitchen to have breakfast. As soon as I walk out of my bedroom, an uneasy feeling shoots through my stomach. Whatever is going to happen today, is going to happen soon. Then, my house starts flooding with water. I don’t know where it came from out of the blue, but I have no idea what to do! Then all of a sudden, a sea monster that looks like a seal, crossed with a mermaid, crossed with a giant squid with enormous, big, bearing teeth, jumps out of nowhere. Then I have a lightbulb moment. I remember the secret weapon my superpower guardian keeps in the top cupboard. The water is up to my hips now, I think I can just make it to the cupboard. I get the superweapon and hold the button down. The water lowers and disappears, and the monster disintegrates. Everything goes back to normal. I am completely and utterly mindblown!

Student Blogging Challenge Week 4- Global Issues- Activity 2- Global issues in your classroom

In Year 5,  my year level did a project called the Passion Project. The Passion Project is when you use your passion to make a difference. Two of my friends who really like performing, put together a puppet craft pack (Sock Puppets used for Drama) and delivered them to the Starlight Foundation for kids who are ill. My friend and I contacted an organization called the  Women’s and Children’s Hospital Foundation. They raise money for the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in South Australia. To raise the money for them, my friend and I collected objects from our family, community, teachers and other students to sell in a garage sale. The main reason why my friend and I decided to raise money for the hospital is that my friend’s cousin had cancer, and some of my family members had cancer and sadly passed away. I think cancer is a global issue even though some of the cancers aren’t caused by people, and they can’t really be prevented or cured 100 percent. Even though this is a different kind of issue, it is still a problem. Leave a comment if you have done something similar to this. Hope to hear from you xx
